My Life Next Door (My Life Next Door) by Huntley Fitzpatrick

My Life Next Door

"One thing my mother never knew, and would disapprove of most of all, was that I watched the Garretts. All the time."

The Garretts are everything the Reeds are not. Loud, messy, affectionate. And every day from her rooftop perch, Samantha Reed wishes she was one of them . . . until one summer evening, Jase Garrett climbs up next to her and changes everything.

As the two fall fiercely for each other, stumbling through the awkwardness and awesomeness of first love, Jase's family embraces Samantha - even as she keeps him a secret from her own. Then something unthinkable happens, and the bottom drops out of Samantha's world. She's suddenly faced with an impossible decision. Which perfect family will save her? Or is it time she saved herself?

A transporting debut about family, friendship, first romance, and how to be true to one person you love without betraying another.

Review: 4.5/5 stars
I didnt know what to think when I went into this book. However I really enjoyed it. The ending could have been better but it still worked. The amount of drama was not overwhelming. This is not a roller costar kind of book. It was a really sweet read. I liked the main characters who captured your attention throughout the book.  Looking forward to read more books by Fitzpatrick.

Lux SeriesOrigin (Lux #4) by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Origin (Lux, #4)Daemon will do anything to get Katy back.

Review: 5/5 Stars
I was super excited for this one I knew it was gonna be awesome and it did not disappoint.
This book was overwhelming (in a good way) in every aspect. Jennifer just went all out!
It was funny while sad at the same time. Daemon still as cocky as always and you cannot help but love him.
One of the quotes that made me cry laughing...
"I stumbled, almost losing my balance, and that brought a big ol'dose of what-the-hell. I never stumbled. I had wonderful poise. Or balance. Whatever." -Daemon
I loved Katy. Mainly because she is not winy and that does not change in this book so I'm glad.
The action was crazy. I would recommend that you should not read this book in a public place just because people will look at you funny. I know this from my experience.
Loved the new characters. I think I'm gonna starting shipping for a new couple.
I loved some of the old characters even more and some of them not so much.
A twist is in place that will make you feel like you cannot trust anyone anymore.
Also Daemon makes some crappy decisions that made me want to punch him.
There are a lot of moments you wont see coming until the exact moment it happens.

O.k I get it Jennifer likes to see us cry and stuff. I feel like she personally enjoys these endings. I don't want this series to end but a happy ending sure sound nice. lol I still love her and I'm so ready for the next book. I cant wait!

Angelfall (Penryn & the End of Days #1) by Susan Ee

Angelfall (Penryn & the End of Days, #1)

It's been six weeks since angels of the apocalypse descended to demolish the modern world. Street gangs rule the day while fear and superstition rule the night. When warrior angels fly away with a helpless little girl, her seventeen-year-old sister Penryn will do anything to get her back.

Anything, including making a deal with an enemy angel.

Raffe is a warrior who lies broken and wingless on the street. After eons of fighting his own battles, he finds himself being rescued from a desperate situation by a half-starved teenage girl.

Traveling through a dark and twisted Northern California, they have only each other to rely on for survival. Together, they journey toward the angels' stronghold in San Francisco where she'll risk everything to rescue her sister and he'll put himself at the mercy of his greatest enemies for the chance to be made whole again.

This was a very different book from usual. I liked it. I know the next one is gonna be better. It was actually pretty scary for me. I would read and night and think - maybe I should turn on the lights for this chapter. It was a very dark take on heavenly beings. Most angels I've read about are here to help. This one is completely different. So if you are looking for something cute this is not it! I enjoyed the main characters. I felt as if the story was rushed at some parts. I think if it was a little bit longer I would have been better. Some of the characters were odd but I think they helped make the book. Her mom is a different topic. This should be added to your read ASAP list. I can't wait for the next book!
