Summer is Over! Schools back T_T
So school is back in session! *cries* This means that my summer reads are over. I read 21 books overall pretty proud of that. At the moment I'm rereading City of Bones. Getting ready for this movie to come out. I'm still going to read but not as much as before because I need to focus a little bit on my studies. Wish me luck! and stay tuned to more reviews.

Review: Summer reads #22: Killing Sarai (In the Company of Killers #1) by J.A. Redmerski
Sarai was only fourteen when her mother uprooted her to live in Mexico with a notorious drug lord. Over time she forgot what it was like to live a normal life, but she never let go of her hope to escape the compound where she has been held for the past nine years.
Victor is a cold-blooded assassin who, like Sarai, has known only death and violence since he was a young boy. When Victor arrives at the compound to collect details and payment for a hit, Sarai sees him as her only opportunity for escape. But things don’t go as planned and instead of finding transport back to Tucson, she finds herself free from one dangerous man and caught in the clutches of another.
While on the run, Victor strays from his primal nature as he succumbs to his conscience and resolves to help Sarai. As they grow closer, he finds himself willing to risk everything to keep her alive; even his relationship with his devoted brother and liaison, Niklas, who now like everyone else wants Sarai dead.
As Victor and Sarai slowly build a trust, the differences between them seem to lessen, and an unlikely attraction intensifies. But Victor’s brutal skills and experience may not be enough in the end to save her, as the power she unknowingly holds over him may ultimately be what gets her killed.

This is a movie in a book. I loved the idea of the story, I've never read one like this so I was super excited when I got it. It reminded me of those Hit man movies. I love the first half of the book it was really good and I was beginning to wonder why I hadn't read it sooner. However it didn't live up to the awesomeness till the end. Kind of disappointing. I wish there was more of a connection between the two characters instead of "something". It was such a great built up with a mediocre ending. I really don't know what to think of the ending it was very unrealistic. Made me want to scream at Sarai that YOU CANT DO THAT IT'S ILLEGAL! but oh well I will still recommend the book because some people might enjoy the ending so go check it out for yourself. I'm going to read the next book and hopefully it answers all my questions.

Review: Summer reads #21: The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde by Robert Louis Stevenson
In this harrowing tale of good and evil, the mild-mannered Dr. Jekyll develops a potion that unleashes his secret, inner persona—the loathsome, twisted Mr. Hyde.

As an upcoming Senior! I decided to take regular English 12. This is our summer reading book that I picked up after I found out I'm one of the lucky one who has English first semester. This was one of the best summer reading books I've ever read. Very interesting and once you understand whats going on it keeps you captured. Also very short and sweet which is great for those who read their summer reading books at the last minute. Hopefully my new teacher doesn't make me write an essay or something like that.

Review: Summer reads #20 : How to Kill a Rock Starby Tiffanie DeBartolo
Written in her wonderfully honest, edgy, passionate and often hilarious voice, Tiffanie DeBartolo tells the story of Eliza Caelum, a young music journalist, and Paul Hudson, a talented songwriter and lead singer of the band Bananafish. Eliza's reverence for rock is equaled only by Paul's, and the two fall wildly in love.
When Bananafish is signed by a big corporate label, and Paul is on his way to becoming a major rock star, Eliza must make a heartbreaking decision that leads to Paul's sudden disappearance and a surprise knock-your-socks-off ending.

This was a wonderful read. This is one of those books I scream at. I was so frustrated with both Eliza and Paul I just wish they would sit down and talk and listen to each other to get rid of all the confusion. I couldn't put this down just had to know what happen next. I loved the changing points of view and the fact that Paul was talking out loud. Loved the whole book and how it turned out.

First of all... That cover!!!!!
Sniff* this was so precious.
I read Hopeless a while back and hardly remembered what it was about when I picked this up. But all of a sudden everything came rushing back and oh my it was fantastic. In Holders point of view everything felt to right. I remember in Hopeless how much I didn't like him because of how he treated Sky but in this book everything is so clear and so heartbreaking and you just have to live him. It was sad but the balance with the sarcasm and laugh out loud moments just made it great! The book had my attention up to the last word which left my eyes a little blurry. I more than lived this book. I loved it!(
Review: Summer reads #18: Lost and Found (Lost and Found #1)by Nicole Williams
There’s complicated. And there’s Rowen Sterling.
After numbing pain for the past five years with boys, alcohol, and all-around apathy, she finds herself on a Greyhound bus to nowhere Montana the summer after she graduates high school. Her mom agreed to front the bill to Rowen’s dream art school only if Rowen proves she can work hard and stay out of trouble at Willow Springs Ranch. Cooking breakfast at the crack of dawn for a couple dozen ranch hands and mucking out horse stalls are the last things in the world Rowen wants to spend her summer doing.
Until Jesse Walker saunters into her life wearing a pair of painted-on jeans, a cowboy hat, and a grin that makes something in her chest she’d thought was frozen go boom-boom. Jesse’s like no one else, and certainly nothing like her. He’s the bright and shiny to her dark and jaded.
Rowen knows there’s no happily-ever-after for the golden boy and the rebel girl—happily-right-now is a stretch—so she tries to forget and ignore the boy who makes her feel things she’s not sure she’s ready to feel. But the more she pushes him away, the closer he seems to get. The more she convinces herself she doesn’t care, the harder she falls.
When her dark secrets refuse to stay locked behind the walls she’s kept up for years, Rowen realizes it’s not just everyone else she needs to be honest with. It’s herself.
Review: 1/5 stars
I really didn't like this one. I know it's not the writing because I've read other of her books that I've loved but I really didn't connect with this one. Especially Rowen and Jesse. That relationship felt kind of flat... I've read some other reviews and they seemed to like it so be a judge for your self. Personally it was a little boring for me. :(
Review: Summer reads #17: Barely Breathing (Breathing #2) by Rebecca Donovan
Emma’s struggle with an abusive home life came to a heart pounding conclusion in the final chapters of Reason to Breathe. Now everyone in Weslyn knows Emma’s secret, but Carol can’t hurt Emma anymore. Some are still haunted by the horror of that night, and some must face the repercussions of their choices. Fans of Rebecca Donovan’s debut novel will discover there’s still much to learn about Emma’s life.
This was such a stressful read. Emotional roller coaster. I didn't like Emma very much here. Seemed a little bit too naive in my opinion. Thw new characters werent very strong. I was pretty mad by the end of the book because Emma was becoming one of those people who didn't talk. I mean if something is bothering you ask or tell someone like I don't know your boyfriend maybe. I liked the epilogue I hope the next book continues from that just like that.
Review: Summer reads #16: Reason to Breathe (Breathing #1) by Rebecca Donovan
"No one tried to get involved with me, and I kept to myself. This was the place where everything was supposed to be safe and easy. How could Evan Mathews unravel my constant universe in just one day?"
In the affluent town of Weslyn, Connecticut, where most people worry about what to be seen in and who to be seen with, Emma Thomas would rather not be seen at all. She’s more concerned with feigning perfection while pulling down her sleeves to conceal the bruises - not wanting anyone to know how far from perfect her life truly is. Without expecting it, she finds love. It challenges her to recognize her own worth - but at the risk of revealing the terrible secret she’s desperate to hide.
Reason to Breathe is an electrifying page turner from start to finish, a unique tale of life-changing love, unspeakable cruelty, and one girl’s fragile grasp of hope.

This book has been in my kindle for forever and lately I didn't know what to read so I chose to just read anything stranded in my kindle and this book was the lucky one.
I had looked at the reviews on this book and rating and everything a while back and I can barely remember what they said. So when I started reading this I decided I will be a judge of my own because sometimes reading other people's reviews messes up with my outcome.
Basically I went into this book blind folded.
So I'm just going to start with what is fresh on my mind since I finished reading a few minutes ago.
What kind of ending is that?!?
For a moment I thought my kindle was broken because this could not possibly be an ending to a book. Sadly it was.
If awards were to be given to worst endings this book will get first place. Now I'm not saying the book is bad the ending was just abrupt, confusing, heart pinching, what the heck just happen kinda ending.
The story was well written and everything flowed. Kept me reading all night. I didn't expect to like it as much as I did and this is because I didn't like the cover (I guess that saying works here) It is just so plain it didn't excite me or make me want to read it.
The main character was so strong but scared and I couldn't help but cry for her.
I'd definitely recommend this to everyone just keep a box of tissue close by you might need it.
I can't wait to read the next one after that ending I need it.
