Is this a threat?

Book Description:
Rating: unread
A gripping psychological thriller . . . In the winter of 1919, a young mother named Mathilda Neumann drowns beneath the ice of a rural Wisconsin lake. The shock of her death dramatically changes the lives of her daughter, troubled sister, and husband. . . . Told in the voices of several of the main characters and skipping back and forth in time, the narrative gradually and tantalizingly reveals the dark family secrets and the unsettling discoveries that lead to the truth of what actually happened the night of the drowning.

Today I was sitting in class talking to the person behind me when I turned around on my desk there was this book. At first I thought I'm the one who put it there then I thought about and I knew it wasn't me. I still had not read the tittle and when I finally read it *gasp* haha. I could help but laugh. So my teacher came where I was sitting and asked whats wrong. I showed her the book and she busted out laughing. She stopped the class and said "Who put this book on Ruth's desk?" "Is this a threat?" The class busted out laughing too but no one came forth. Then after a while my friend from the other side of the rooms gets up and says that she didn't want to interrupt the conversation I was having with the person behind me, so she just left it there.

Today is a day I'm blessed to see.

The Reading Clock

Story of my life...

Book Suspension

The beginning of January I had to suspend myself from reading because I had been reading too much. At least that's what they say. To be honest I don't think I was reading enough. I was preparing for my ACT on February 9, 2013. I needed to concentrate, I needed a clear mind.  Once I finished my ACT I got my kindle out of the closet and started reading. I had no time to waste. YOLO applies to my life of reading.

First book:

Book Description:
Mature YA-romance
Seventeen-year old Sarah’s life is turned upside down when her single mom is sent to jail. She’s forced to move, leaving behind everything she’s ever known, including her best friend Sydney. Lost and bitter in a new school, her one goal is to save money and move back home. Then she meets Angel Moreno.

Enigmatic but gorgeous, Angel is almost too good to be true. Except for one thing, his archaic belief that guys and girls can never be “just friends”. The problem? Sarah’s best friend Sydney is not a girl.

With their unexpected romance intensifying to places neither ever experienced, how long can Sarah keep Angel in the dark about the guy waiting for her back home?

Not as exciting as I expected.
It kinda made me mad because I did not enjoy it really until the end.
It was so cheesy but I love cheesy but this kinda cheese was just not my kind of cheese.
I'm probably not making sense but it took me a while to get into the book. It seemed slow at times.
Their problems seemed to be not book worthy to me... until the end.
The end I have to say is the only thing that did not disappoint.
However it made me so mad how obvious things did not seem to this girl. How cant you not see!! how?!!!

Overall I'm not really sure if I want to continue the series but I just might out of curiosity.
And I have to say when it finally happen that was so unromantic I was about to throw my kindle away just because I couldn't stand it anymore. I mean there could have been roses involved or something. AHHH! GOSH I'll get over it... for now.

Second book:

Book Description:
There are those who don’t get luck handed to them on a shiny platter, who end up in the wrong place at the wrong time, who don’t get saved.

Luck was not on Callie’s side the day of her twelfth birthday when everything was stolen from her. After it’s all over, she locks up her feelings and vows never to tell anyone what happened. Six years later her painful past consumes her life and most days it’s a struggle just to breathe.

For as long as Kayden can remember, suffering in silence was the only way to survive life. As long as he did what he was told, everything was okay. One night, after making a terrible mistake, it seems like his life might be over. Luck was on his side, though, when Callie coincidentally is in the right place at the right time and saves him.

Now he can’t stop thinking about the girl he saw at school, but never really knew. When he ends up at the same college as Callie, he does everything he can to try to get to know her. But Callie is reserved and closed off. The more he tries to be part of her life, the more he realizes Callie might need to be saved.

First of all look at that cover! This book was good inside and out.
I really enjoyed it. Read it in 2 days.
It was wonderfully written and all the characters were fantastic except for him... Who does that and why?to your own kid?!?
Seth and Luke were just awesome they made the story complete.
The book was perfectly paced. Usually I complain that they fell in love too fast or not fast enough. But here everything just flowed into each other. There was no cheesiness going on. I cried,I laughed, I loved.
The things they had to go through was heart breaking.
I just loved it! I can't wait to read the next one.

Third Book:

Book Description:
Sometimes discovering the truth can leave you more hopeless than believing the lies…

That’s what seventeen-year-old Sky realizes after she meets Dean Holder. A guy with a reputation that rivals her own and an uncanny ability to invoke feelings in her she’s never had before. He terrifies her and captivates her all in the span of just one encounter, and something about the way he makes her feel sparks buried memories from a past that she wishes could just stay buried.

Sky struggles to keep him at a distance knowing he’s nothing but trouble, but Holder insists on learning everything about her. After finally caving to his unwavering pursuit, Sky soon finds that Holder isn’t at all who he’s been claiming to be. When the secrets he’s been keeping are finally revealed, every single facet of Sky’s life will change forever

I really enjoyed this book.
I had to have a day to take it all in before writing this. Too many emotions at that moment.
It completely broke my heart how everything turned out in the end, the reality of things was disturbing.  I was happy with Karen I don't think anyone else could have thought of doing what she did.
Knowing that people like Sky's dad exist in this planet saddens me.
Sky was super brave for being able to go through hell and back and Holder was just awesome for being there for her at every moment.

After everything I understood why he was reacting to things the way he was. His sister playing a small big part in the story.
I loved the reason behind Six's name, rebellious she was.

Colleen Hoover does it again!
Cant wait for the next one.

Now Reading...

At the moment I'm reading The Nature of Jade by Deb Caletti.
I just started it today. So far so good.

Author: Deb Caletti
Book: The Nature of Jade
Book Description:
I am not my illness. "Girl with Anxiety," "Trauma of the Week" -- no. I hate stuff like that. Everyone, everyone has their issue. But the one thing my illness did make me realize is how necessary it is to ignore the dangers of living in order to live. And how much trouble you can get into if you can't.Jade DeLuna is too young to die. She knows this, and yet she can't quite believe it, especially when the terrifying thoughts, loss of breath, and dizzy feelings come. Since being diagnosed with Panic Disorder, she's trying her best to stay calm, and visiting the elephants at the nearby zoo seems to help. That's why Jade keeps the live zoo webcam on in her room, and that's where she first sees the boy in the red jacket. A boy who stops to watch the elephants. A boy carrying a baby.

His name is Sebastian, and he is raising his son alone. Jade is drawn into Sebastian's cozy life with his son and his activist grandmother on their Seattle houseboat, and before she knows it, she's in love. With this boy who has lived through harder times than anyone she knows. This boy with a past.

Jade knows the situation is beyond complicated, but she hasn't felt this safe in a long time. She owes it all to Sebastian, her boy with the great heart. Her boy who is hiding a terrible secret. A secret that will force Jade to decide between what is right, and what feels right.

Master storyteller Deb Caletti has once again created characters so real, you will be breathless with anticipation as their riveting story unfolds.

I really enjoyed this book.
Took me a while to read it because of school stuff but overall I didn't mind.
I wanted to savor every page.
I learn a lot about elephants and anxiety something I have never really thought about.
Having the elephants and Damian as a side story really helped the book.
I loved the characters. Tess was one strong granny you just couldn't help but love her.
Sebastian was great with all that was going on around him he seemed to be able to handle it. And Bo... so cute! Hope he has an awesome life.
I felt as if I didn't really understand Jade's parents. It would have been nice if they explained what happen with them or why they are drifting apart. I saw what was happening at that moment but it felt like there relationship was something that had been drifting apart for a while. And I want to know what happens in the end.
Same with Tiffany I wish I knew the side of her story so that I could see where to place myself in their case. Who's side to pick.
I don't really know how I feel about what Sebastian did. It seems okay to me but then we have to face the fact that it is not in the legal side of everything. But if we think about what's fair for the kid I think he did the right thing.

R.L Stine

So I was going through my sister's book box and look what I found. I remember when she used to be a huge fan of R.L Stine so my dad bought any he found. She also has the Goosebumps books.

First Post

Hi there welcome to my new blog page. We are going to be talking about books, books, and... more books. I love reading. Paranormal romances are the best same with all kind of romances. I am a sucker for love so I also enjoy the cheesy kind of  romance books. However not all of them some are just too cheesy for me. I hope you guys enjoy the blog.
